Family vacations create the rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and spend meaningful time with the people we love.

For the Stapleton family, their Aruba session became an evening of exploration across two of the island’s most distinctive settings. We began near the California Lighthouse, surrounded by Aruba’s rugged northern landscape, before continuing toward the shoreline at Boca Catalina.

Having several generations together made the session especially meaningful. Alongside complete family portraits, we photographed the smaller connections within the group—the girls together, parents with their children, and the quiet bonds shared across generations.

As the evening progressed, Aruba provided a constantly changing backdrop. The desert landscape and lighthouse offered a sense of adventure, while Boca Catalina’s rocky shoreline, sculptural driftwood, and golden Caribbean sunset created a warmer and more intimate atmosphere.

Rather than limiting the session to formal portraits, we allowed time for natural conversations, laughter, and relaxed moments together. These unscripted interactions often become the photographs families value most because they preserve not only how everyone looked, but how it felt to share the experience.
